The Sandstorm Realm is a blistering, sun-scorched biome that stretches across the exposed upper crust of Planet Eternity. Marked gold on navigational maps, it is the most “surface-oriented” of the four known realms, with much of its danger hiding not in claustrophobic tunnels but in open-air ruins, half-buried castles, and crumbling ziggurats overtaken by time and sand.
Relentless dust storms sweep through the realm at irregular intervals, sometimes reducing visibility to a few feet and masking the approach of enemies. Beneath the sand, explorers discover partially exposed ancient roads, fortresses, and courtyards carved from yellowed stone—many of which lead to subterranean vaults once protected by now-hostile sentries. These ancient outposts seem to have been designed to withstand the sun, but not whatever tore their builders from existence.
Lore & Theories
It is widely believed that the Sandstorm Realm was once the seat of a solar-worshiping civilization that sought to harness the power of Eternity’s star through ritual and architecture.
But something went wrong.
There are signs of violent collapse—hallways caved in by heat, fused metal gates warped from explosive forces, and skeletal remains turned to ash at their posts. Some theorize the realm’s downfall came from tampering with solar energy, resulting in the rise of scorched horrors and volatile lifeforms that now infest the ruins.
Known Enemy Types
The Sandstorm Realm is known for nimble ambushers, burrowing predators, and heat-resistant Undead. Enemies here often rely on speed, swarming, or sudden strikes.
Scorpions
These agile critters thrive in the sunbaked terrain.
- Small Scorpion – Fast and venomous, often attacks in small packs.
- Scorpion – Mid-sized and durable, with a stronger sting and harder shell.
- Scorpion King – A rare elite variant with oversized pincers and an envenomed tail.
Wasps
Mutated to withstand high heat and wind, they strike from above.
- Tiny Wasp – Small, bright-colored bombers that explode on contact.
- Small Wasp – Slightly larger than Tiny Wasps, often scouts for larger swarms.
- Medium Wasp – Can fire stinger projectiles and dodge incoming attacks.
- Large Wasp – Boss-tier predator capable of pinning players and delivering rapid stings.
Imps
Quick, aggressive, and often fire-attuned.
- Imp Minion – Charges and leaps with a melee machete.
- Imp Ranged – Dual-wields throwing axes; strikes both from afar and up close.
Undead & Sorcerers
Despite the heat, Undead still roam the ruins—sun-bleached and determined.
- Skeleton Minion – Wears partial desert armor; vulnerable to blunt force.
- Skeleton Archer – Takes advantage of long sightlines in open areas.
- Skeleton Warrior – Patrols major ruins with better armor and weapons.
- Skeleton Mage – Rare, but more dangerous when able to leverage open space for ranged fireballs.
- Skeleton Boss – Guards ancient temple grounds or elite treasure rooms.
- Uber Mage – A fire-slinging teleporting menace. Only found in high-threat dungeon vaults.
- Zombie – Dries out in the heat, but still shambles persistently.
Others
- The Doomer – Rare but present. Often found near sunken fortresses.
- Golem – Desert variant has sand-blasted stone armor.
- Octoculus & Octoculus Boss – Appear within sealed chambers, floating silently in ancient sanctums.
Conclusion
The Sandstorm Realm is a sunlit tomb, a crumbling monument to a civilization that flew too close to the sun—quite literally. Its treasures are many, hidden beneath dunes and lost vaults, but so are its dangers. Be prepared for speed, heat, and ruin.
